Alex Wood Photography

Alex’s interest in photography began in high school while on backpacking trips with the Boy Scouts. After thousands and thousands of photos with a point and shoot type camera, Alex acquired his first DSLR camera in 2013. Since then, he has taken his camera to many remote locations in the Western US and internationally. Alex is originally from California and first moved to Flagstaff to pursue his B.S. in geology at Northern Arizona University. Upon graduation in 2013, Alex began guiding full-time. This opportunity allowed him to take his lens deep into the backcountry of multiple National Parks such as Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Zion and many more. Alex decided to go back to school in 2017 to pursue his M.S. in geology at Northern Arizona University. Through his numerous adventures, Alex has formed a deep connection with the Colorado Plateau and the Western U.S.. Alex wants to be employees as a hydrogeologist in the Southwest and would like to maintain his hobby of photography
